Letterbox Love (5)

Letterbox Love is a UK based feature where book bloggers showcase the books that they received that week, be they eBooks, paperbacks, hardbacks or any other format. It is hosted by Lynsey from Narratively Speaking.
I have a really good haul this week. I ended up going to three different book shops, managed to be given a book and went to a charity shop where I got extra lucky. I also had to go to the library so I have a very big haul.
Bought/ Book Shop Haul:

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare- I read Clockwork Prince last weekend and had to buy this because I couldn’t face not knowing what was going to happen. I’ve already read it and will be posting my review in the coming week.
The Host by Stephenie Meyer- This is one of my friend, Lucy’s, favourite books and she’s been bugging me to read it for ages so I decided to pick it up this week and I’m really close to the end. I’m going to watch the movie adaptation this week.
By Any Other Name by Laura Jarratt- I loved Skin Deep and so am really excited to read this one.
Pretty Bad Things by C.J. Skuse- This is the only C.J. Skuse book I haven’t read and I’m looking forward to reading it because her books make me laugh so much.
I bought this later in the week which is why I have put it on a separate photo.
Finding Cherokee Brown by Siobhan Curham- Although I haven’t read Dear Dylan yet, I’ve heard great things about this and am really looking forward to reading it.
Divergent by Veronica Roth- Although one I’ve already read, Divergent is not a book that belongs on my bookshelf due to me borrowing it from the library when I read it. This was really cheap at The Works and I’m so glad that I’ve finally got it, especially as the movie covers will be coming out soon.
City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare- I’m trying to obtain all of Cassandra Clare’s books so that I can add them to my shelf because they’re one of my favourite series of all time.
If I Stay by Gayle Forman- This isn’t a book that I’ve really wanted to read but I can’t resist a bargain and it does sound really good.
Given:

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green- This was my Grandma’s copy of The Fault in Our Stars and, as she’s already read it, she said that she would give it to me so that I can pass it around my friends which is exactly what I’ll be doing. I’m so excited for them to read it!
Charity Shop Haul:

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare- Again, this is a book that I’ve already read but I’m really glad that I’ve added it to my collection. Go Shadowhunters!
Mates, Dates & Inflatable Bras by Cathy Hopkins- I’ve read quite a few of Cathy Hopkins’ other books and I’ve been looking for this one for ages but never succeeded. I’m really looking forward to starting it.
Magus of Stonewylde by Kit Berry- I must confess that this is my third copy of this book. I’m at this moment imagining my room full of copies but, to me, that really wouldn’t be a bad thing. I’m obsessed!
Library:

City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare- I had to get this is as soon as I’d finished Clockwork Princess because I couldn’t let go of the Shadowhunters. My feels were all over the place and reading this was one of the only things that I thought would cure it- it worked!
I am so pleased with everything I received this week; I seem to have bought a lot of Cassandra Clare books!

Letterbox Love (4)

Letterbox Love is a UK based feature where book bloggers showcase the books that they received that week, be they eBooks, paperbacks, hardbacks or any other format. It is hosted by Lynsey from Narratively Speaking.

Like every week, I thought I was going to have a really bad haul this week but I ended up ordering a few books and also went to the library so I ended up with lots of brilliant books in my hands.

Received:

Infinite Sky by C.J. Flood- I’d like to send a massive thank you to Sophie from So Many Books, So Little Time for sending me this. I was so excited when I received it and so started to jump around my living room like the mad thing I am. Thank you once again, Sophie!

Bought:

The Evolution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin- I’ve been wanting to read this since it was released in the US back in October but it has only been released in the UK for a month so I haven’t been able to get my hands on it for a while but I’m looking forward to finally starting it.
Pantomime by Laura Lam- I’ve heard really good things about this book and can’t wait to start it because it sounds really interesting.
Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi- I’m not stupid; I know that Shatter Me has been HUGE in the US. I’ve decided to finally buy it because I am an incredibly nosy person and must find out what everybody is raving about.
Borrowed from Library:

Numbers: The Chaos by Rachel Ward- I read Numbers, the first in the trilogy, a week or two ago and really enjoyed it so was really pleased when I managed to pick this one up.
Wonder by R.J. Palacio- I’ve seen this book around quite a lot lately and was going to pick it up the other week but never did so I’m glad that I did yesterday.
What did you receive this week? Don’t forget to link back to your own posts and I’ll try and leave a comment.
If you’re a new reader, follow and leave a link to your blog and I’ll follow back.

Letterbox Love (3)

Letterbox Love is a UK based feature where book bloggers showcase the books that they received that week, be they eBooks, paperbacks, hardbacks or any other format. It is hosted by Lynsey from Narratively Speaking.
I was dreading my book haul this week because I thought it would be really small but I’m wrong again! I have a reasonably big haul this week and am really pleased with everything that I got.

Review Haul:

The Hit by Melvin Burgess- I came home the other day to find this and was really surprised! I had no idea that I was getting it and it looks really good. The cover is gorgeous. Thank you, Chicken House!
Library Haul:

Fever by Lauren DeStefano- I read Wither this week (my review will be posted on Friday) and loved it so I was pretty desperate to get my hands on this book. I’m going to start it as soon as possible!
Angel Dust by Sarah Mussi- I’m reading this as part of my library’s book club this month and it looks so good. I love the cover!
Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare- EEEP! How long have I waited for this book?! I could never find it at my library and I’ve been trying to wait patiently so I’m super pleased that I’ve finally managed to obtain a copy. I must read it now!!
Gifted:

Skin Deep by Laura Jarratt- I was going to buy this the other day but never did so I’m super pleased that I managed to get a copy at my library. My awesome librarian, Tracy, had a pile of books that she was giving away and nobody else wanted this one so I picked it up. I can’t wait to start it!

Letterbox Love (2)

Letterbox Love is a UK based feature where book bloggers showcase the books that they received that week, be they eBooks, paperbacks, hardbacks or any other format. It is hosted by Lynsey from Narratively Speaking.

I don’t have a massive haul this week because I didn’t buy anything but I’m really pleased with the books I received and I’m also hoping that next week will be a better week because I’m expecting quite a few books.

Library Haul:

I went to the library yesterday to return a few books and managed to pick these two up. I was hoping to get more but it wasn’t one of my best library hauls because I’m very fussy when it comes to picking up books.

Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver- I liked Delirium, although it wasn’t one of my favourite books, and, with the release of Requiem, knew that I would have to finish the series off. Pandemonium is the second book in the trilogy and I’m really looking forward to reading it.
Just Listen by Sarah Dessen- I finished The Truth About Forever yesterday and loved it so knew that I would have to read something else by the author. This one sounds really good!

E-book Haul:

I don’t usually post the e-books that I buy/receive but I had to include this one because I was so happy about it.

The Prince by Kiera Cass- EEEP! I loved The Selection and it is one of my favourite novels so I just had to buy this as soon as it was released. I’ve already read it and was super pleased to see that it included the first two chapters of The Elite. And now I really can’t wait until April!

Bookshop Haul:

I was honoured to receive an invite to Marie-Louise Jensen’s book launch for Smuggler’s Kiss and got a few of my books signed, as well as buying one that I haven’t already read.

Between Two Seas by Marie-Louise Jensen- This is one of Marie-Louise’s books that I haven’t yet read and I’m really looking forward to starting it.
And here is my signed copy of Smuggler’s Kiss…

What did you receive this week? Link back to your own book hauls and I’ll be sure to check them out!

Letterbox Love (1)

Letterbox Love is a UK based feature where book bloggers showcase the books that they received that week, be they eBooks, paperbacks, hardbacks or any other format. It is hosted by Lynsey from Narratively Speaking.

At the start of the week, I was really worried that I wouldn’t have anything to share this week, but I was so very wrong! Previously I’ve done Stacking the Shelves but I’m going to be concentrating more on UKYA (more on this next week!) now and would like to connect with more UK bloggers.

Library Haul:

I have a massive library haul this week. On visiting my library on Saturday and finally meeting my teen librarian, I got lots of recommendations. Let me just add that my library is awesome.

You Against Me by Jenny Downham- Jenny Downham is an author that I haven’t read yet but I really want to and this was one of the books recommended to me.

Wither by Lauren DeStefano- With the release of Sever, I knew that I would have to start this series soon. I’m really looking forward to reading this as I’ve heard such great things about it.

Changeling by Philippa Gregory- I love historical fiction so much and Philippa Gregory is an author that I’ve been meaning to read for ages. I’ve heard mixed reviews for Changeling so I’m looking forward to making my own judgement.

Entangled by Cat Clarke- I read Undone last week and knew that I had to read her other two books. The cover is gorgeous!

Nobody’s Girl by Sarra Manning- I read Adorkable back in January and loved it and this was also one of the books that I had recommended. It looks so good!

Torn by Cat Clarke- Another Cat Clarke book! I’m so spoiled this week!

Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour by Morgan Matson- I really enjoyed From What I Remember by Stacy Kramer and Valerie Thomas which was (sort of) a road trip book so I’m looking forward to reading this one. It was recommended to me and it looks like a really cute read.

When I Was Joe by Keren David- I’ve wanted to read something by Keren David for a while and it just so happens that this is the book for a new book club I’m going to attend in a few weeks. The cover is really nice!

Won:

A Shade of Vampire by Bella Forrest- I won this in Jessica’s blogoversary giveaway and have been excitedly waiting its arrival. And it’s signed!

Bought:

Rockoholic by C.J. Skuse- I was lucky enough to go to an event where three authors (Lucy Christopher, C.J. Skuse and Rachel Ward) were talking and so I bought this there. And I got it signed! The cover is so, so pretty. I can’t wait to start it.

Numbers by Rachel Ward- I also bought this at the event and also got it signed. I can’t wait to start it as it looks like an amazing read.

(I’ll be writing a write-up of the event next week and it will be posted on Wednesday).

Those were the books I got this week! What did you get in your letterbox? Link back to your own posts and I’ll check them out.

I’m also looking for new UK book blogs to follow so I’d love it if you could link back to your own blogs and I’ll check them out. Thank you!

I haven’t posted a STS recently but thought I would do one this week as I received quite a lot of books!
As usual I’ve taken pictures and written why I picked the book up and my initial thoughts on it.
Book Shop Haul:
The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa- I read the first book in this series, The Iron King, back in October and, after seeing the second one in a bookshop, I knew I had to buy it! And I need to read the whole of this series so that I can fangirl with Eileen from **Singing and Reading in the Rain**.
The Immortal Rules- I’ve already read this book but I had to buy it as I really love the cover and want to re-read it again! And another one that Eileen will love…
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater- I’ve read all of Maggie Stiefvater’s other books and I am a huge fan and so I can’t wait to read this book! It’s supposed to be great!
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky- I’ve wanted to read this for a while now after hearing about the movie and although I didn’t know much about it I started it right away. I’m really enjoying it and I’ll post my review as soon as I’ve finished it.
The Fault in our Stars by John Green- I’ve wanted to read something by John Green for ages and TFioS is supposed to be amazing!

Library Haul:

The Host by Stephenie Meyer- With the movie coming out in February I think now is a good time to start reading the book and I’m really looking forward to it!
Tithe by Holly Black- I’m a huge fan of novels about the Fae and this book seems really interesting!
The Twice-Lived Summer of Bluebell Jones- I’m going to be reading this book as part of the British Books Challenge of 2013 and I can’t wait as the main character shares the same name as my hamster!
VIII by H.M. Castor- I LOVE HISTORICAL FICTION! I’m also reading this book as part of BBC 2013 and I am just so excited to start reading it!

Christmas Haul:

The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien- Even before hearing about the movie I’ve wanted to read this and, having not written a list for Christmas, I had no idea that I would be getting it! I’m so glad I did though as I’ve put it at the top of my TBR pile!

E-book haul:

I received this book to review from the author and immediately started reading it! I love Greek mythology!
You can read my review here

I bought this book the other day having heard about the author and I decided to try it out.
