Wrapping up April!

wrappingupapril.pngSo April was quite a busy month for me! I was off school for over two weeks so I got lots of time to catch up on reading, and it was really nice to just be able to relax.

I announced I would be starting a new blog schedule, but, you know what? That’s now going! I’m now not going to have a blog schedule and I’m hoping this will take a lot of weight off my shoulders. I feel pressured all the time and I hate it. Now, I’ll only be reviewing books I want to and at any time too. I won’t be posting on a particular day or scheduling for a particular time – I’ll just be posting whenever I feel like it.

In April month it was my two year blogoversary, which was rather exciting. I celebrated by reading and eating chocolate  all day. Can you think of a better way?! Thank you for all your lovely messages!

In April I read:

The Good Luck of Right Now by Matthew Quick (REVIEW)I really enjoyed this! It’s the second of Matthew Quick’s I’ve read and I wasn’t disappointed. 3.5 STARS

The Year of the Rat by Clare Furniss (REVIEW)This is a brilliant debut novel that I can’t wait to recommend to people. 4 STARS

Sealed with a Kiss by Rachael LucasThis was such an amazing novel and I’ll be posting my review of it soon so keep an eye out! LOVED it! 4.5 STARS

Don’t Even Think About It by Sarah MlynowskiSuch an awesome read that I whizzed through really quickly. Review to come! 5 STARS

Now You See Me by Emma HaughtonI really enjoyed this and managed to finish it in an afternoon. Review to come over at Project UKYA soon! 5 STARS

A Game of Thrones by George R. R. MartinThis. Freaking. Book. I loved it so, so, so much! Review definitely coming soon because I need to ramble about just how amazing it is. 5 BILLION STARS

Across the Universe by Beth RevisThis has been sat on my TBR pile for ages (over  a year – eek!) so I was really pleased to finally get to read it. I’ll definitely be picking up the others in the trilogy sometime soon. 4 STARS

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar ChildrenI really loved this and will hopefully be posting a review soon. 5 STARS

By far my favourite book of the month was GAME OF THRONES. It’s now in my top 4 favourite books so it must be amazing! I’ve now moved on to the second book, A Clash of Kings, and am hoping to start watching season 1 of the TV show this weekend. Yay!

IMG_1715In other news, this month I’ve had lots of fun looking after, and mostly hugging, my little guinea pigs. I love them all to pieces!

To the left is Snowdrop who recently had four gorgeous babies, all four of which are boys. Snowdrop is such a cutie and here she was enjoying an afternoon in the sun.

Other non-book stuff:

This month I’ve been listening to: Indila who’s a French singer. I’m such a French nerd! Imagine Dragons, as always, offer the perfect blogging soundtrack, and I also found The Neighbourhood who are pretty awesome.

I ate a lot of chocolate. An awful lot.

In May I want to…

I want to start using my YouTube channel more, with weekly videos. I’m revamping it at the moment so hopefully I can start making more videos. If there are any videos you’d like to see me do, let me know!

Read at least 8 books! I read 8 this month, so I’d like to keep that up throughout May and read more if I can.

Start watching Game of Thrones because I’m so obsessed with A Song of Ice and Fire right now. And Daenerys Targaryen obviously…

Clear out my bookcase and create more space because the mess is really annoying me!

Get more organised. I’m so out of it right now!

What did you do in April? What was your favourite book of the month? Let me know in the comments!

It seems like you had a great month reading wise! Most of those titles are on my TBR list. I’m glad you liked Game of Thrones, I’m more into the show but I think I’ll read it someday. You HAVE to watch it, it is amazing! I can’t really choose my favourite book of April since I’m torn between Pivot Point and The Maze Runner!

I’m reading The Lord of the Rings at the moment and it’s reminding me how much I love the fantasy genre, so I now also want to read the Game of Thrones books too. Glad to hear you loved the first book so much – I will definitely be trying to get my hands on it soon! And yay for more baby guinea pigs! (And YAY for chocolate, which – coincidentally – I’m eating right now 😉 YUM.)

I didn’t think I would, but I love GoT. The only problem is that it can be awkward to watch when my parents are around, because well y’know…so I tend to have to wait until they’re out to watch it, haha.

I keep meaning to read the Game of Thrones books but then I keep putting them off because of the length of each book. I think I’m going to try and read one a month as well as whatever else I’ll be reading and hopefully that won’t be as intimidating! I also can’t wait to watch the tv series so I’m hoping that will give me the extra kick to start reading Game of Thrones this month.

You read so many AMAZING books this month! I’ll keep an eye out for your post about GoT. I’ve read up through book three, but have just started watching the series at season 4. It’s nice that you’ve decided to post whenever you want to. I still use a post schedule to keep me motivated and organized with all of my exams coming up. Without a schedule my blog would probably never be updated!

Sounds like you had a great April, Lucy! I’m sure this new ‘schedule’ will go great for you. You’ll be much more carefree when you’re admiring your LITTTLE FLUFFLY GUINEA PIGS. I still love them way too much. XD Game of Thrones sounds amazing!! I need to be a bit older to watch/read them I think, but I’m already excited for when I do! Hope you have a great May!
