NaNoWriMo- National Novel Writing Month

I just wanted to make a quick post to say that next month I will be participating in National Novel Writing Month. This means that from November 1st until November 30th I have to try and write 50,000 words! I’m incredibly nervous but I’m hoping that a lot of planning and preparation will help get me through it!

National Novel Writing Month happens every November! It’s a fun, seat-of-your-pants writing event where the challenge is to complete an entire novel in just 30 days. For one month, you get to lock away your inner editor, let your imagination take over, and just create!
That means participants begin writing November 1 and must finish by midnight, November 30. The word-count goal for our adult program is 50,000 words, but the Young Writers Program (YWP) allows 17-and-under participants to set reasonable, yet challenging, individual word-count goals.
In 2011, 250,000 adults participated through our main site, and 50,000 young writers participated through the YWP.

Throughout the month of November I’m planning on making lots of posts about my writing and how it is going so that I can share the experience with all of you!
Some of the time I’ll be sharing writing tips and other times I may include little excerpts of my writing! It’s a really great opportunity and I really can’t wait to get started!
