I haven’t posted a STS recently but thought I would do one this week as I received quite a lot of books!
As usual I’ve taken pictures and written why I picked the book up and my initial thoughts on it.
Book Shop Haul:
The Iron Daughter by Julie Kagawa- I read the first book in this series, The Iron King, back in October and, after seeing the second one in a bookshop, I knew I had to buy it! And I need to read the whole of this series so that I can fangirl with Eileen from **Singing and Reading in the Rain**.
The Immortal Rules- I’ve already read this book but I had to buy it as I really love the cover and want to re-read it again! And another one that Eileen will love…
The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater- I’ve read all of Maggie Stiefvater’s other books and I am a huge fan and so I can’t wait to read this book! It’s supposed to be great!
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky- I’ve wanted to read this for a while now after hearing about the movie and although I didn’t know much about it I started it right away. I’m really enjoying it and I’ll post my review as soon as I’ve finished it.
The Fault in our Stars by John Green- I’ve wanted to read something by John Green for ages and TFioS is supposed to be amazing!

Library Haul:

The Host by Stephenie Meyer- With the movie coming out in February I think now is a good time to start reading the book and I’m really looking forward to it!
Tithe by Holly Black- I’m a huge fan of novels about the Fae and this book seems really interesting!
The Twice-Lived Summer of Bluebell Jones- I’m going to be reading this book as part of the British Books Challenge of 2013 and I can’t wait as the main character shares the same name as my hamster!
VIII by H.M. Castor- I LOVE HISTORICAL FICTION! I’m also reading this book as part of BBC 2013 and I am just so excited to start reading it!

Christmas Haul:

The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien- Even before hearing about the movie I’ve wanted to read this and, having not written a list for Christmas, I had no idea that I would be getting it! I’m so glad I did though as I’ve put it at the top of my TBR pile!

E-book haul:

I received this book to review from the author and immediately started reading it! I love Greek mythology!
You can read my review here

I bought this book the other day having heard about the author and I decided to try it out.
You can read my review here

I saw this book for a small amount of money on the Kindle store and decided to buy it. I absolutely loved it and finished it really quickly!
Review coming soon

I got some really great books this week and would love to hear about your own haul!

Julie Kagawa is probably my favorite author (if I had to choose) and I loved The Immortal Rules so much, my friend got it for me as a Christmas gift (after I wouldn’t stop saying how amazing it was and how much I wanted to reread it). The Iron Fey series is an awesome and brilliant series but The Iron Daughter is probably my least favorite in the series (it’s still really flipping great though).

The Fault in our Stars was also a good book but I think my expectations were a little too high because of all the hype surrounding it (be warned it beat up my emotions then threw the down a cliff).

I really have to get my hands on Persephone, I have a big soft spot for greek mythology and the concept sounds interesting.

You have some really great books, I hope you have fun reading!

I just finished the Scorpio Races; it starts of pretty slow, but the writing so enchanting that I just couldn’t put it down even though it crawled at a snail’s pace!!

I love that cover of The Perks of Being a Wallflower. I haven’t read it, but I hear it is totally amazing. I need to get on that.

TFIOS is great (as is John Green), but it is really sad. So be prepared. It’s wonderfully written.

I’ve heard Catching Jordan is actually quite good! I really liked Perks of Being a Wallflower.. read it ages ago actually so I might have to go back to re-read it soon 🙂 I bought The Host also a while ago but still haven’t read it.. was going to but Breaking Dawn irked me so much that I didn’t want to read her books anymore.. lol!

Thanks for stopping by my StS!

The Host, The Hobbit, and Persephone are ones I’ve read. Host could have been cut by 100 pages but I still liked it.

And I really want to read the Perks, Catching Jordan, and Breathe.

    Enjoy.

Ooh, I hope that Catching Jordan is still available for a cheap price on the Kindle! It’s been on my TBR for such a long time, and I’ve heard so many great things about it. I also can’t believe you haven’t read TFiOS!! That book is the saddest thing ever, but still totally amazing.

Fantastic haul! I hope you enjoy all of them. Happy reading! <3
