Inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and the Story Siren, the aim of Showcase Sunday is to highlight our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders each week. It is hosted by Vicky from Books, Biscuits and Tea.
I’ve decided to do Showcase Sunday again because I like the interactivity of it and talking to new bloggers is one of my favourite things to do.
I have a really good haul this week with some very exciting books featured. I can’t wait to read them all! Sorry for the bad quality of photo; the place where I usually take them is messy and I wanted to show the covers of some of the books.
Bought:
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Official Illustrated Movie Companion- I saw this and couldn’t think of buying anything else because it has the most gorgeous pictures and offers a real insight into the making of the film.
I’m really looking forward to reading it cover to cover.
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones Shadowhunter’s Guide- This has really good character descriptions and pictures of all the runes which will come in handy very soon!
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare (film cover edition)- This came with a free rune charm which I’ve since added to a chain and wear as a necklace.
Brooklyn Girls: Pia by Gemma Burgess- This one sounds really good and I’ve heard good things about it. I’m really enjoying reading NA at the moment, too.
Gifted- Book Swap:
Bloodlines by Richelle Mead- I’ve read the first Vampire Academy book and am looking forward to starting this one. I really want to meet Adrian Ivashkov! Thank you, Hawwa!
e-Books:
Bought:
Losing It by Cora Carmack- Review coming soon! I loved this so, so much!
Faking It by Cora Carmack- This was just as good as Losing It and I really want more by Cora Carmack now!
The Distance Between Us by Kasie West- This was a really cute and sweet read that I really enjoyed.
To Review- Netgalley:
These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman- This sounds so good and I’m so please I was accepted. Thank you, Disney Hyperion and Netgalley!
The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes- Another one that sounds fab. Thank you, Disney Hyperion and Netgalley
Waiting on the Sidelines by Ginger Scott- Thanks to the author and Netgalley for this one! I’m really looking forward to starting it.

11 August, 2013 at 11:22 amOoooh I hope you enjoy TMI, those covers are interesting – I can’t say I’m fan of book covers that have the movie poster though :/ – wait have you read TMI or did you just buy another copy because of the necklace lol? Such dedication with those film tie in books too!
Bloodlines is pretty good but wait til you get to The Indigo Spell omg 😀
I love Losing It and I’m sooooo glad you like it too! I have Faking It and I need to get around to read it. Not sure how I’ll feel about Cade because I’m a Bliss x Garrick girl.
The Distance Between Us is AWESOME. I loved the MC’s voice and her sarcasm. Xander (;
Annnnnddd THESE BROKEN STARS YOU MUST READ IT ASAP SO WE CAN CRY AND DISCUSS OUR FEELS. I heart that book so much, it’s amazing. Tarver’s sarcasm and Lilac’s prose are gorgeous. Kaufman and Spooner did a really good job me thinks.
Fantastic haul, enjoy!!!

11 August, 2013 at 11:45 amI’ve already read all of the TMI books but I really wanted the charm that came with the film cover. It’s my second copy of the book! I’m a Shadowhunter and proud!
Faking It isn’t as good as Losing It but is absolutely amazing, nonetheless. Cade really comes into his own in it and Max (the love interest) is very interesting too. I loved her so much!

I WILL! I'm planning on reading it sometime this month so will let you know once I've finished it so we can fangirl.

11 August, 2013 at 12:46 pmI wasn’t happy with the design before because it didn’t feel very warm and welcoming. Also, some people were getting confused with the slider. I hope it’s a good change, though!
Thank you!
I can’t wait either! Two days! I’ve got it on pre-order! Bliss and Garrick are the cutest!
You must read City of Bones right away!
Thanks for stopping by, Emma!

I can’t either! Only two days until Keeping Her! I love Bliss and Garrick <3
It is really cute and a quick read. It only took me a few hours and was definitely worth it.
Read the books before you watch the movie! They've changed a few little things and you'll be able to appreciate it more if you've read the books.
Thanks for stopping by, Debbie!
